Celebrate the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, USU Holds a Competition

PR USU - Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a competition to commemorate Indonesia's 77th Independence Day. The competition was held at Pancasila Building on Monday (15/08/2022).
It is known that in addition to celebrating the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, this race is also close to USU's 70th Anniversary celebration. So that in this race, starting from the academic community, employees, lecturers, to educators are involved as race participants.
Dean of FISIP Dr. Hatta Ridho S.Sos., MSP, when he became one of the race participants, explained that the competitions contained in this event were a variety of typical 17s matches that are often found at every August 17 celebration, including tug of war competitions, karaoke competitions, racing competitions, sacks, putting nails in bottles, and others.
"To the best of my knowledge, there are tug-of-war competitions, karaoke, sack races, and putting nails into bottles," said Dr. Hatta.
On this occasion, Dr. Hatta Ridho S.Sos., MSP advised the USU academic community that the commemoration on August 17 could increase love for the country and a sense of nationalism, besides increasing the importance of unity and integrity so that it would not be easily divided.
"This August 17, we as USU academics together increase our love for the homeland, a sense of nationalism, and a sense of unity and integrity so that we are not easily divided by differences," he said.
The Dean of FISIP USU also said that the academic community from the realm of education would help the government realize the theme of the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, namely "Recover Faster, Rise Stronger".
