The opening of the 2020 Universitas Sumatera Utara Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) series of events was officially opened today by the USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Runtung, S.H., M.Hum, Monday, September 28, 2020, at 08.00 AM, this event was also attended by Rectorate officials, namely the Vice-Rectors, University Secretaries, Bureau Heads, Expert Staff and administrative staff of the Bureau of Student Affairs and Alumni Affairs, the Deans of the 15 Faculties who symbolically received the faculty flag as a sign of the relay of new students from the Rector to the Faculty Dean.

The PKKMB USU 2020 event was held online for the first time through the Zoom application; this was done because the coronavirus pandemic is still spreading, which has an impact on all lines, including campus life, and to break the chain of expansion of the virus to avoid crowds.  

The PKKMB event began with the singing of the Indonesia Raya song and prayer, followed by a video greeting from the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. Then, the USU Rector made remarks while opening the PKKMB USU 2020 activities.

The PKKMB USU 2020 Opening Ceremony event is packed with strict health protocol standards and is held on the front page of the USU Administrative Center Bureau. The series of PKKMB USU 2020 activities lasts for two days, and the PKKMB USU 2020 opening ceremony is broadcast live online through the Zoom application and YouTube streaming of the USU Bureau of Student Affairs and Alumni Affairs.
