In her remarks, USU Vice Rector I, Prof. Rosmayati, expressed her gratitude to PT Inalum for the scholarship assistance given to USU students. "Of course, we would like to thank PT Inalum. Hopefully, this good cooperation can continue. Hopefully, students who receive scholarships can make the best use of the scholarship funds so that they will be able to help students finance their tuition fees later, "said Prof. Rosmayati.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bureau of Student Affairs and Alumni Affairs of USU, Dra Hindun Pasaribu, also explained that the PT Inalum (Persero) scholarship program for USU students has been running since 2014. "Since 2014, PT Inalum has provided scholarship assistance to USU students," said Dra Hindun Pasaribu.
Furthermore, Dra Hindun Pasaribu also explained the number of scholarships USU students receive each year. "In 2014, 139 USU students received PT Inalum scholarships, detailing the undergraduate and diploma program. As many as 131 people each received IDR 5,000,000 per year, and for postgraduate programs, as many as eight people each received IDR 10,000,000 per year.
In 2015, 115 USU students received PT Inalum scholarships, with details of undergraduate and diploma programs for as many as 105 people receiving IDR 5,000,000 per year and postgraduate programs for as many as ten people receiving IDR 10,000,000 per year. In 2016, a total of 166 from undergraduate and diploma programs received IDR 5,000,000 per year, "said Dra Hindun Pasaribu.
On the same occasion, the Head of the USU Student Welfare Section, Drs Effendi Manurung, also explained that the requirements for obtaining this Inalum scholarship are students who excel with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and are registered as underprivileged students.
