Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) once again demonstrates its strong commitment to strengthening campus internationalization programs through a strategic collaboration with the global youth organization AIESEC in USU. On 8 October 2025, AIESEC in USU officially announced the appointment of Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T. as its newest Board of Advisors (BoA), who will play an active role in organizational development and in strengthening USU students’ global initiatives.
The appointment of Prof. Himsar as a BoA marks an important step in supporting AIESEC in USU’s efforts to expand its network and enhance students’ capabilities at the international level. Widely recognized as an academic with extensive involvement in research collaborations and global partnerships, Prof. Himsar is expected to provide strategic guidance in reinforcing USU’s position as an internationally competitive university.
His presence is anticipated to serve as a bridge between USU’s internationalization vision and AIESEC’s youth programs, particularly in the areas of leadership development, cultural exchange, and the enhancement of student human resources. With his broad academic experience and strong professional networks, Prof. Himsar is well positioned to help open new opportunities for collaboration with overseas institutions and to strengthen global initiatives led by USU students.
This appointment also reflects AIESEC in USU’s commitment to engaging outstanding academics in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring that its activities remain aligned with the university’s mission and responsive to current global needs.
With Prof. Himsar Ambarita serving as a Board of Advisor, AIESEC in USU is optimistic about strengthening synergy between the academic sphere and student leadership development. This collaboration is expected to create a more global, inclusive, and impact-oriented learning environment, while further enhancing USU’s image as a university committed to nurturing globally minded and internationally competitive young leaders.
